Dr. Mehta is a graduate of Queen's Medical School and went on to complete a rotating internship (University of Ottawa) and neurosurgical residency at Dalhousie University. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurosurgery in 1998. Dr. Mehta then joined the neurosurgical staff at Dalhousie University in 1998 to practice both pediatric and adult neurosurgery.
Dr. Mehta received the McLaughlin Travelling Fellowship and completed a dual pediatric/adult neurooncology fellowship with Dr. Peter Black at Children' s Hospital of Boston and the Brigham and Women's Hospital (Harvard University). He then went on to complete a MSc (Epidemiology) at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Mehta joined the University of Alberta from Dalhousie Univeristy in 2001. His current interests are in pediatric/adult neurooncology and epidemiology.
